Here are some photos I took during mid-Spring of 2026. The last three were taken on 2026-04-03, and the first one was taken a few days earlier. Click on an image to open a larger version (warning: the largest image is ~14 MiB).

The Roger Stevens building at the University of Leeds

The Roger Stevens building (named after a former Vice-Chancellor of the UoL) is one of the main teaching spaces at Leeds. While some people consider it an eyesore, I’m quite fond of it, especially on clear and sunny days. It’s also benefited from campus-wide refurbishment efforts including exterior concrete restoration and repainting.

The scaffolding on the left of the building obscures a glass exterior wall which covers a café. The sculpture “Hermes/The Spirit of Enterprise” by William Chattaway can be seen on the very left of the building. The umbilical walkway leading into it forms part of the university’s North-South accessible route and connects it to the Maths, Earth, and Environment building, one corner of which is visible in the foreground. The walkway in the foreground connects the E.C. Stoner building (nicknamed “Long Huxley” by myself and friends) to Maths, Earth, and Environment.

The Marjorie and Arnold Ziff building (named for two philanthropists local to the area) houses offices for administrative staff at the University as well as some student facing services. I believe the brick building to the right houses offices for the School of English.

Workshop theatre at the University of Leeds

The workshop theatre houses a stage, though I’ve never been inside. The spire behind it and to the left is the Emmanuel centre which houses the University Chaplaincy and some teaching spaces. The more modern building behind and to the right is the Laidlaw library which is the main non-specialist library for undergraduates.
